WANE-TV is a television station in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Originally a CBS affiliate, WANE has also been affiliated with ABC News and has also been a part of the NTA Film Network. The channel also produced local programs, including Jeopardy! In the 1960s, WANE also launched a radio station, WANE-FM. The station has changed its name several times and is currently owned by Nexstar Media Group.

In 1966, the station went on the market. Dun & Bradstreet bought the station and subsequently sold it to LIN Broadcasting. In 1983, WANE acquired local rights to Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, and in 1991, it went on the air. The channel continues to carry local news, sports, and talk shows. In the late 90s, WANE acquired the local rights to Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right.

In 2003, WANE was sold to United Paramount Network. It continued to carry programs until 2006 when it was acquired by Belo Corporation. In August 2016, WANE sold its channels to Nexstar Media Group, which is owned by LIN Media. On October 4, 2018, the channel changed its eye log to 15 and dropped the NewsChannel 15 moniker. The network has been on air since the 1980s. It has a history of partnering with other companies to provide local news.

The station’s call letters were changed in the late 1950s when the Indiana Broadcasting Company acquired WINT. They then shifted operations to Fort Wayne, but the transmitter remained in rural Auburn until 1957. In the November 2007 sweeps period, WANE and WPTA were necks. The station was eventually sold to Belo. Its current ratings are comparable to those of the former WISH-TV. The latter’s newscasts have a higher percentage of local news.

On May 15, 2017, WANE-TV was pulled from the list of available channels on Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks. It had been pulled from both companies after a contract dispute with the media company. In the past, the station was suspended on Time-Warner Cable. On June 22, 2008, the station was cancelled on all networks. Despite the cancellation, viewers can still watch this channel on TWC in the Fort Wayne area.
